12-19-17 Political Roundtable
Part 1: Assistant Minority Leader Ellie Espling joins David Jones, Rich Cebra and Ray discuss the tax cuts that are in the current tax plan and the proposed plans.
Part 2: Shannon Bissonnette of Better Than Average Jams joins us in Studio and gives a quick overview of her business and says she can still ship out. She has the Moxie brand jam and Ray’s favorite Apple Maple Jam. Wednesday is the last day to ship so order today with the special code “Ray Christmas” and receive 15% off of your order.
Part 3: Republican Party Leader Demi Kouzounas joins the group. More tax breaks lead to more money in your pocket. With more money in your pocket you are more willing to spend money. Shannon says that she can’t find people to work. She has been looking for two people for about a year. Everyone that wants to work has a job, those that don’t want to work have it so easy, they don’t need to work to better themselves. Rich wants to see a debate between Angus King and Paul LePage.
Part 4: Iranian-backed terrorist group Hezbollah is discussed and how the Obama Administration and DOJ might have been covering up drug trafficking by the group.
Part 5: Linda Sarsour, the Pro-Palestinian activist who helped spearhead the Women’s March in Washington earlier this year, allegedly enabled the sexual assault and harassment of a woman who worked for her. Allegations of groping and unwanted touching were brought to the attention of Sarsour during her time as executive director of the Arab American Association. The discussion turns to the Maine Budget and Supplemental budgets.
Part 6: Christmas is discussed. Some of the panel is not so into Christmas because it has become so commercialized. Ray is stunned by some of their reactions. Rich gives the true meaning of Christmas as he quotes the story from the Bible.
Part 7: Joy of Christmas is in your heart, not the commercial part of it. Rich talks about his son and daughter-in-law being home for the first time for Christmas.
Part 8: Ray plays the Kenny Rogers/Wynonna Judd song “Mary Did You Know” and then they talk about whether or not Mary knew what she was getting into when she accepted the Lord’s gift. Joseph stood by her, even though he hadn’t touched her and she was with Child. Mary was around 14 years old.
