01-31-18 AARP Maine
Part 1: Jane Margesson of AARP Maine joins Ray, David Jones and Rich Cebra in studio. Jane is here to remind people to watch out for scams that are out there. She reminds us if we suspect a call is not on the up-and-up, hang up. If you have been scammed you can place a freeze your credit report. You can also do this on your children and think of your grandchildren, they might be affected. If you have sent money through Western Union and gotten swept up in that scam. The deadline for that is coming up quickly Feb. 12, 2018. The phone number to call to file a claim is 844-319-2124. Fox News Radio’s Jon Decker joins us by phone and recaps the State of the Union Address last night.
Part 2: Ray asks Jane to expand on the Western Union. Maine Attorney General’s office has a list of some of the scams out there. If you have lost money wiring money through the Western Union scam, there is a website that you can get some of your money back. This is the link to the information. If you have any question the AARP Fraud webpage is states.aarp.org/region/maine.
