Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals is represented by Meris Bickford CEO of the horse shelter, and Kathy Woodbrey, treasurer, are in from the farm to share with everyone a program they are promoting. They will continue the work of the Maine Equine Welfare Alliance to provide temporary, emergency food assistance for the horses of Maine. Thanks to a generous grant from the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), the MSSPA will offer short-term food assistance, which can provide a safety net, allowing a horse to remain in a loving, healthy home.
