Part 1: Ray and Joe welcome Shawn Moody to WLOB. The boys start off talking about the Topsham Fair and running some machinery. They talk about working with your hands. Ray asks Shawn about his thoughts on what people saying about him following Gov. LePage. He would love to see the young kids in our state be able to find work because of all of the benefits in working.
Part 2: Joe brings up the opioid crisis in Maine. He gives some of his insight of the problem and how Medicaid expansion isn’t going to make a difference. Minimum wage increase and reimbursement rate was cited in two nursing homes recently closing. They hit on the people’s referendum process.
Part 3: Harold Pachios joins Joe, Shawn and Ray in studio. Buckle Up!!! Ray asks a listener’s question and Shawn answers. He states that it all boils down to education. He wants to break the stigmata that accompanies trade schools and blue collar jobs. Shawn lays out his thoughts about self medicating and mental health of our first responders and feels the need to protect and help them. Joe and Shawn ask Harold several questions and his viewpoints. Non-citizen voting, unions, minimum wage and the middle class are all discussed. This was quite the discussion.
