09-18-18 Political Roundtable
Part 1: Ray welcomes Assistant House Minority Leader Ellie Espling, David Jones, Gordon Draper, Rep. Rich Cebra, and Debi Davis are the beginning of the political roundtable. They start with the Special Session and veto votes. They end up with Ray running for office and driving Mr. Cebra.
Part 2: Ray and the gang talk about morality vs accomplishments in the government. They talk about how Maine is turning the economy to put it on the right path and how we need to continue in this direction.
Part 3: Joining in is Deb Shangraw. She is running for Westbrook City Council. The panel talks about some of the candidates running for office. Cumberland County Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Sahrbeck joins and gives his reasons why he is running for office as an Independent. Gordon asks about the BLM protesters on Commercial Street in Portland.
Part 4: They discuss the breaking news that the convicted murderer that had escaped from jail ha been caught. Ellie announces that her campaign has been endorsed by Former Sen. Olympia Snowe.
Part 5: The panel is joined by Dr. Demi Kouzounas, GOP Chair. They talk about Mark Holbrook. Demi stresses that families have disagreements, but they are still family. She supports Mark wholeheartedly.
Part 6: Jonathan Sahrbeck gives a final statement on the reasons and qualifications on his campaign for Cumberland County DA. He has the backing of the current DA Stephanie Anderson.
Part 7: Rich has been convinced to vote for an Independent. The job of DA needs to not be political and he, after learning more about Jonathan, gives his endorsement to his campaign and is putting a sign up for him. The panel then moves on to the Kavanaugh story. Rich reads Kavanaugh’s response to the accusations. Ray polls the panel on their thoughts.
Part 8: Ellie praised Deb for putting her hat in the ring and welcomes her into the fray.
