Part 1: Ray and Debi welcome Glenn Cummings, President of the University of Southern Maine, in studio this morning to help spread the good news that enrollment is up. Fall Headcounts Early College at USM is up more than 500% in four years!! (Fall 2015: 120, Fall 2016: 555, Fall 2017: 500, Fall 2018: 697) They also talk about some of the schools that USM has dual enrollment partnerships from Sanford High School in the southern portion of the state, to Stearns High School in Millinocket, to Calais High School in the east.
Part 2: The boys talk about Question 4, which asks if they want to invest $49 million in Maine’s public universities for the purpose of increasing massive workforce development capacity — with the ultimate goal of attracting and retaining students to improve and strengthen Maine’s future workforce. Ray points out that even the Governor is for this bond. We need to upgrade our technology available to students. They talk about the University Nursing Workforce Plan.
