01-15-19 Political Roundtable
Part 1: Ray is joined by Waterville Mayor Nick Isgro, Former Assistant Minority House Leader Ellie Espling, and Newly Re-Elected GOP Chair Demi Kouzounas. The discussion in this segment is labels. How parties try to put labels on everything, including women. Each woman has an independent thought and should be treated as such.
Part 2: Ray talks about how often the ladies have been in studio. He then asks the ladies about what the strategy is for the next couple of years. Demi gives some of her thoughts. They talk about Ranked Choice Voting and how it is now being looked at by other states.
Part 3: The panel talks about the Republican party. Demi talks about the election for the Party Chair. Ray states for the record the truth behind candidates and what the strategy and practice of recruiting people to run. Ellie asks the question, “Why would someone want to run if they are demonized by both sides of the party and the Democratic party.
Part 4: The panel take a call from Fox News Radio’s Jon Decker. Ray asks him about the lights and pizza leftovers from yesterday’s Clemson visit. Jon describes his trip on Air Force 1 yesterday. Ray asks what will quell the Democrats on the Barr confirmation. They discuss the government shutdown and the wall.
Part 5: Ray talks about the “Miracle on the Hudson” and he can’t believe that it was 10 years ago. They also talk about how he feels when his kids get sick. They also talk about 2016 Republican Convention in Cleveland. They take a call from Arthur Langley. He reflects on the Republican Party’s history. They continue to talk about the true meaning of success of government.
Part 6: Ray asks Ellie to describe what “She Leads” is all about. She gives a definition and would like to get more women involved in politics.
