02-08-19 Must Be Friday, Joe is Here!
Part 1: Ray is joined by Friday regular, Joe Bruno. They discuss Maine’s government protection proposed for government to pay for care of a spouse. The Sen. Margaret Craven, D-Lewiston sponsored L.D. 20, An Act to Fully Fund the Homemaker Services Program, during the last legislative session. Rep. Richard Malaby, R-Hancock, proposed a bill to add $460,000 over two years to cover the cost of adult day care for more low-income people.
Part 2: Ray and Joe talk about the government growing and not being business friendly. A lot of small businesses are struggling not to go out of business and are worried about the regulations that will be put into effect, like minimum wage increases and paid sick leave.
Part 3: The boys talk about the United States Trade Deal. NAFTA is not a good deal for Maine, but the new proposal seems to be better for all involved.
