02-22-19 Commissioner Mike Sauschuck
Part 1: Ray and Joe Bruno chat with Maine’ Public Safety Commissioner Mike Sauschuck. Ray points out that they had this same conversation five years ago. Joe points out the mixed message coming out of the Legislature. They have legalized recreational use of marijuana and yet fight the “opioid” crisis. Joe tells the story of getting gas and Ray tells a story about Kyle Shangraw and progression into drugs and his long time recovery. They talk about all of the community support and family support and how important it is to recovery. They also hit on beds in the recovery facilities and how Medicaid Expansion will play a roll.
Part 2: Ray asks about community and conversations to develop trusting relationships. Ray brings up School Resource Officers (SRO). The Commissioner would love to have an SRO in every school so those relationships will be there. Fox News Radio’s Jon Decker joins the group to give a quick update on the rumor that Mueller will be closing the investigation. Ray also ask Jon about Roger Stone, indicted by the Mueller probe, put a picture of the judge ruling his case with cross-hairs out on social media. They talk about the treatment, everything that works while they are in, but as soon as they get out, they go back to the same environment, place/space/people from before. Ray points out what a great job Milestone Recovery is doing and tells a personal story.
