05-01-19 Wednesday with Joe
Part 1: Ray and Debi welcome Joe Bruno on a Wednesday. Joe, Ray and Debi talk about the potholes in Southern Maine. Joe proudly states that Raymond has great roads because they take care of them. He also says that they have a marijuana store. They welcome Fox News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland by phone to discuss Attorney General William Barr testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding the Mueller report.
Part 2: Fox News Radio’s Simon Owen joins by phone to update on embattled Venezuela. Russian backed Leader Nicolas Maduro was preparing to leave the country but Putin told him not to leave. Tensions escalated after the country’s U.S.-backed opposition leader and National Assembly President Juan Guaidó supporters take to Venezuela’s streets in new bid to oust Maduro.
Part 3: They studio talk about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was sentenced on Wednesday to 50 weeks in a British prison for jumping bail.
Part 4: Ray, Joe and Debi discuss a story about a woman that has been harassed because she had the nerve to play a round of golf with President Trump. They discuss the differences between Gov. John Baldacci and Gov. Janet Mills, personality and policy wise. They poke fun about Beto O’Rourke’s idea that we won’t be here in ten years.
Part 5: Ray reads a story about Gov. Mills bills. This leads to a discussion about all of the things that will be banned so the huge dome covering Maine to keep out the pollution coming across the country out won’t be able to be built.
Part 6: Ray reads a story about that the New York attorney general’s office has launched an investigation into the National Rifle Association. Then he reads a story about Instagram from Fox News. “Donald Trump Jr. accused the “social media gods” at Instagram of bias and censorship Tuesday after a photo of him smiling alongside a wounded U.S. Army veteran was reportedly deleted from the platform.” Ray, Debi and Joe discuss the “media”. They end up talking about Narcan and the training of dispensing/using medicines.
Part 7: Ray and Joe talk about the infrastructure bill in Augusta. Ray and Joe continue talking about some of the different bills. They take a call about the infrastructure bill.
Part 8: Ray reads another story out of the Washington Post about the Mueller Report and the summary vs context. Ray explains the difference between what is the summary and context. They take a call about Mueller not reviewing the summary prepared by AG Barr after being invited to do so. They talk about the never Trumpers are doing anything that they can because they are afraid because they are loosing. The economy is doing so well.
Part 9: Ray reads another story about Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) calling for AG Barr to resign over a story he read in the Washington Post. Fox News Radio’s Jon Decker calls in to weigh in on the Mueller report and AG Barr testimony. Staffers asking the question and AG Barr’s frustration.
Part 10: Ray reads a story about San Jose City College officials have disinvited U.S. Customs and Border Protection from a campus job fair in response to protests against the agency’s presence. Ray announces the Dinner that WLOB is sponsoring for the graduating High School Seniors in Maine going into the military on May 17th. Ray takes a call who is really frustrated with the direction or state is going. They go to extremes with this thought process.
Part 11: Debi takes a question from the caller about Joe’s attire. They take another call with a little thought for the day about Moses. Joe teases Ray about wearing a white wet t-shirt and having his nips. They all say in unison, “Ban the Nips!”
