10-31-19 Happy Halloween
Part 1: Ray is on a role this morning. He has hit on so many ideas in this segment….Hillary Clinton, women in power, Russian interference, Russian collusion, President Trump’s accomplishments, the “mis-information” machines from within our own country (Democratic and Republican parties) and voter fraud.
Part 2: Ray is tricked by Visit Portland‘s Bob Witkowski as he is dressed as Allstate’s Mayhem. They laugh and clown around. Ray mentions and gives a shout out to his friend and Allstate agent in Westbrook, Carlo Giraulo.
Part 3: Today’s History Lesson: Paul Revere (January 01, 1735-May 10, 1818) He was immortalized in the Henry Wadsworth Longfellow poem “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” for bearing news of an impending British invasion to the town of Lexington, Massachusetts, a hotbed of radical activity. The boys are joined by Deb Shangraw. Bob reads a little bit of the Henry Longfellow’s Paul Revere’s Ride.
Part 4: Ray, Bob and Deb welcome Phil Spiller, candidate for Westbrook Mayor, in studio. Bob explains how he got to know Phil. Ray re-introduces the others in the studio. Bob goes back to the discussion about Paul Revere and his Maine ties. They talk about the Masonic role in our country and how it affected government. The Underground Railroad and the vast tunnel system under the streets of Portland Maine. They talk about Maine’s history and Maine’s Bicentennial Celebration. They talk about government and civics. Civics not being taught in American schools.
Part 5: The panel continue to discuss Phil Spiller and politics. Phil says that as a non-politician he believes that people can work together. Deb explains what Team Westbrook is all about and how they work together. She announces her endorsement for Phil. Ray asks him what his vision is for Westbrook. Phil talks about the different departments and the awesome teamwork and that they all work together.
Part 7: The group welcome David Ciullo of Career Management Services and he also hosts The H.R. PowerHour on WLOB Radio. Dave gives a story about his costume. They talk about Halloween at the workplace and home. He talks about dressing appropriately. He also brings up the different color buckets to signify different health conditions such as autism and/or allergies.
Part 8: Ray lays down the gauntlet on the Democrats. He is hoping that they vote to impeach President Trump because they have no idea what is going to happen.
Part 9: Ray, Phil Spiller and Deb Shangraw welcome Liz Harrington, national spokesperson for the Republican National Committee to talk about the collusion between the media and the Democratic party. They chat about how the truth will be come out about all of the lies that have been said about Trump’s accomplishments and dealings are actually things that the Democrats have been doing for years. They are mad that the truth will come out. They talk about the death of Al-Bagdadi who was a monster and the New York Times headlines that glorified him until they changed it. Ray announces that the Feds lowered the interest rates for the third time in 2019. They compare the outrage of the Saudi reporter’s death, but glorify the head of ISIS. Liz has written an Op-Ed and it is on FoxNews.com.
Part 10: Phil Spiller talks about the long history of the Westbrook and their service to America. They have a huge Memorial Day remembrance and parade. Deb says that Westbrook also has a Veteran’s Day Ceremony. It will be at the Riverbank Park on 11/11, at 11. Please join us to say thank you to our brave men and women.
Part 11: Ray, Phil and Dee Dee welcome News Center Maine‘s Pat Callaghan as we do every Thursday morning. Pat and Ray talk about Bill Green, who announced that he will be retiring. The talk about the inductees of the Broadcasting Hall of Fame. The boys move on to politics. Rep. Jared Golden has said that he is in support of the vote of Impeachment of the President. Ray and Pat go down the impeachment path and how it was done in history. Ray talks about President Clinton and censure. (Censure can be adopted through a resolution, which is a written motion that expresses an opinion or will of a legislative body. Resolutions can take a stance in matters of public policy or, serve a purpose in internal and administrative purposes, as would be the case in a presidential censure.) The move on to the 2nd District Senate Race with Sen. Susan Collins and Maine Speaker of the House Sarah Gideon.
Part 12: Ray and Pat continue their weekly chat. The World Series is discussed and all of the drama, bad calls, no home game win. Ray tells a story about finding out who had won.
