Part 3: Today’s History Lesson: Nathan Hale (June 6, 1755 – September 22, 1776) was an American soldier and spy for the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. He volunteered for an intelligence-gathering mission in New York City but was captured by the British and executed. Hale has long been considered an American hero and in 1985, he was officially designated the state hero of Connecticut. Nathan Hale was also a part of Knowlton’s Rangers, the first organized intelligence service organization of the United States of America, led by LTC Thomas Knowlton. In the following spring, the army moved to Manhattan Island to prevent the British from taking over New York City. In September, General Washington was desperate to determine the location of the imminent British invasion of Manhattan Island. To that end, Washington needed a spy behind enemy lines, and Hale was the only volunteer. According to the standards of the time, spies were hanged as illegal combatants. On the morning of September 22, 1776, Hale was marched along Post Road to the Park of Artillery, which was next to a public house called the Dove Tavern (at modern-day 66th Street and Third Avenue), and hanged.[10] He was 21 years old. Mark joins Ray and Joe briefly.
Part 4: Joe’ Unleashed segment: 1:) Who anointed the Bar Association? President Donald Trump announced his intent to nominate Larry VanDyke to serve as a United States Circuit Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He received a “not qualified” rating from the American Bar Association. ABA evaluators interviewed 60 lawyers, judges, and others who had worked with VanDyke in some capacity and also examined publicly available emails and news articles about the candidate. In its letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee, the ABA wrote, “Mr. VanDyke’s accomplishments are offset by the assessments of interviewees that Mr. VanDyke is arrogant, lazy, an ideologue, and lacking in knowledge of the day-to-day practice, including procedural rules. There was a theme that the nominee lacks humility, has an ‘entitlement’ temperament, does not have an open mind, and does not always have a commitment to being candid and truthful.” The letter also noted that some of the people interviewed by the ABA in compiling its report expressed concern that VanDyke could not be impartial toward LGBT litigants. 2:) Democratic Maine Town Hall meetings about broadband and the cellphone coverage. 3.) Where are the price reductions that the Democrats are claiming are happening. Joe is in the prescription drug business and he knows what they prices are and where the money is going. 4.) Teens in Maine smoking pot and the school test scores. Where is all of the money that is going that is given to the schools? We can’t keep throwing money to the schools and not expecting results. 5:) The way people that are interviewing for a job. An applicant comes in with demands. Maine need to work on our work ethics and get back to where were before. Maine’s work ethic reputations has totally taken a nosedive. Joe goes back to Sarah Gideon and her PAC and lying about where she is getting her money and how it is laundered. Ray goes back to the school’s accountability. He gives some real stats to back Joe’s claims.
