Part 1: Ray talk about Maine. The Governor has not giving any direction to businesses about her plans on the Stay at Home order that she has imposed that is supposed to end on April 30th. Ray is really frustrated because she is not being a leader. He says that she hasn’t named the city that individual cases are in or where the deaths have been. Ray feels that she is making her decisions out of fear, not science. The data numbers don’t reflect a continuation of the Stay at Home order.
Part 2: Ray continues with his plea for leadership. He says that the system in Maine to help the unemployed has not worked properly and he can’t count how many people have reached out to him for help in negotiating the path. He takes a call about re-opening businesses.
Part 3: David Jones joins Ray and they chat about the leadership of Maine. This time they speak about Maine’s Speaker Sara Gideon and her lack of leadership. She has never owned a business and yet she is telling you how to run your business. Government overreach is rampant.
Part 4: Ray plays a clip from March 4th from FDR’s inauguration speech “there is nothing to fear, but fear itself”. They talk about the lack of leadership. Ray sets up his next guest with the question about businesses are allowed to be open and those that have to be closed. Paul White Tile has been mandated to be close, yet The Home Depot can remain open. They serve residential and commercial. Paul White tells what his company does to keep his customers safe and frustrations of the small business that is trying to compete with a business that is allowed to stay open.
Part 5: Ray gives a short preview of an up-coming segment with Rich Cebra about the leadership during this crisis from our Governor and Speaker of the House Sara Gideon. Rich has been a frequent long time guest and small business owner of Steamboat Landing Mini Golf. He has also served in the Maine House.
Part 6: Ray plays a clip from a speech Dr. Martin Luther King gave. Ray editorializes for you enjoyment for a minute. He and David welcome Rich Cebra and his brand of common sense. He is frustrated because of the amount of letters and calls that he has gotten about the state reopening for business. He says that the Governor has no faith that the businesses can follow guidelines on opening their business. Rich says that MainePolicy.org has laid out a fantastic plan that will work well for Maine. They talk about the numbers and data, which don’t support an extension to this Stay in Place order. Rich says that the Republicans have been shut out of any discussions. They have been finding out information just like everyone else … Press Conference. Ray brings up Van Buren Maine and compares it to Portland or Bangor. Why should they have the same restrictions.
Part 7: Ray plays the song Forty Hour Week from the band Alabama. He and David talk about the working class and how they are the essentials and the backbone of America. They talk about leadership and what does good leadership look like as they welcome regular Tuesday guest Derek Gause. Derek understands leadership and how valuable it is as a member of our armed forces. Ray talks about the daily press conferences and how they are not helpful because there is no real information in them. Ray stresses that it is the America people that will determine the rebounding of our economy. The governors of all of the states can allow businesses to open and life can get back to normal, but it will be the people to decide whether or not to go out and attend ball games or go to the mall and restaurants. Ray and the boys talk about the business community is tired of the hysteria and the numbers and data doesn’t support the mandate and Ray has gotten word that there might be some that start defying the order if it is expanded. Ray reads a post on Facebook by Calley Warren that perfectly describe most of the small business owners and residents of Maine attitude.
Part 8: Ray takes some calls about the leadership of the Mills’ Administration. Ray has been saying that she should have put a curtailment order on spending for the budget when she placed the Stay at Home Order. They talk about Maine getting back to work is imperative or some of these businesses will never be able to open up again. Ray brings up the hoarders of toilet paper, hand sanitizer and paper towels.
Part 9: Ray teases Derek about his sister and how pretty she is and what happened to him. Derek says that his dad is listening. Ray, Derek and David talk about going to a baseball game and enjoying it with a hot dog, pretzel and a nice cold beer. Ray gives a hope and prayer that the Governor makes a prudent decision on helping the state’s businesses and residents.
