Part 1: Ray talks about Thanksgiving and Lizzi’s (Ray’s daughter) birthday at Stockhouse Restaurant in Westbrook. Stolen Mojo was the cover band that was playing and they did an awesome job.
Part 2: Ray talks about the Friday festivities in Portland and Freeport.
Part 3: Ray describes the Apple Walnut Stuffing that he will be making. A recipe from the Food Network “The Kitchen” that Valerie Bertinelli made.
Part 4: Ray talks about the Thanksgiving Parade and the balloons. They may or may not be able to fly. This leads Ray to talk about the city of New York.
Part 5: Dee Dee tells a story about her childhood and gathering the hickory nuts for her Daddy so he could smoke the turkey and other meats. Ray describes the differences between the different woods that are used to smoke with. He also remembers his Uncle Jim. Ray takes a call about what he is Thankful for.
Part 6: Ray answers some trivia questions from Dee Dee about Thanksgiving.
Part 7: Ray reads some of the history and trivia about Thanksgiving. What did the first Thanksgiving meal include, the history of the parade, how and why is Thanksgiving when it is celebrated. Ray goes back to the Portland Tree Lighting and some of the fun activities. He goes back to the trivia and history of different things that Thanksgiving inspired as well.
Part 8: Ray reads the Original Proclamation of Thanksgiving given by President George Washington. Ray and Dee Dee’s kids start coming in one by one, Lizzi and Justin and then Conner, Bailey and Carter..they talk about some of the blessings that they are Thankful for. Today is Bailey’s 24th birthday….
Part 9: Lizzi and Bailey tell what their traditions that they look forward to. They bring up Wreaths Across America because Carter is playing with the truck that we have in studio. This brings up their honeymoon trip and the Magnolia empire to celebrate being debt free. Lela and Brandon show up.
Part 10: Tripp shows up, the oldest Richardson kid, and they continue with the family traditions and memories. Brandon and Lela tell us about the reason she looks like she swallowed a watermelon. They talk about Gatlinburg and our Thanksgiving trips. Tripp shares his favorite memories…..
