Part 1: Ray and Joe discuss the Tariffs that President Trump are trying to impose. They talk about China and Japan and the trade deals with them. The boys switch to the lobster industry and some how gets on to Sarah Gideon’s admission of misusing PAC money. Ray recalls the long history of Maine elected folks that have served in Washington without scandal….and along comes Sarah and she has a scandal before she even gets elected.
Part 2: Ray and Joe talk about Baltimore and the racist claims. Joe’s point is when did it become racist to tell the truth. Joe brings up the trip to Africa that US Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota and pictures of them posted on the internet. They visited several places on her return to “Mother Africa” with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other members of Congress.
Part 3: This is the History Segment: John Penn (May 17, 1741 – September 14, 1788) He was born in Caroline County, Virginia, to a family of means. His father died when he was eighteen years old, and though he had received only a rudimentary education at a country school, he had access to the library of his relative Edmund Pendleton. He was licensed to practice law in the state of Virginia at age twenty-two.On July 28, 1763, Penn married Susannah Lyne. The couple had three children. Their daughter, Lucy, married John Taylor of Caroline, a political leader from Virginia. In 1774 he moved to Granville County, North Carolina, where he established a law practice and soon became a gentleman member of the political community. He was elected to attend the provincial Congress in 1775 and elected to the Continental Congress that same year. He served there until 1777, participating in committee work. He was again elected in 1779, appointed to the Board of War, where he served until 1780. He declined a judgeship in his native state around that time, due to failing health. In retirement he engaged in his law practice. He died at the age of 48.
Part 4: JJ Jeffery asks Ray a question about John Penn’s connection to William Penn. Shawn Moody joins the boys in studio. The boys continue with the thoughts on history and why it is so important. They talk about what the true meaning of what a militia army and who they were. Shawn brings up the run on the banks that happened a few years ago. He points out that there are many people that carry cash anymore. They talk about up the trip to Africa and the “celebration” of the slave trade and yet in the US, they are tearing down statues of our founding fathers. They end up on the asylees and they can’t work for two years. Ray points out that our government brought slaves to America and have basically kept them under their governmental thumb for the life of our country.
Part 5: Shawn questions why they can’t do a work around with allowing the asylees to work and not just give them money. They are already breaking Federal law with Maine’s marijuana laws. This is a long segment because we had a problem with out Fox feed.
Part 6: Ray and Joe talk about homelessness in Maine. Ray asks how do combat because there are so many factors that affect the homeless. Joe says that mental health is a huge part of it and Ray points out that there is a huge drug problem within that population. They talk about bringing faith into the discussion of drug abuse. They take a call about the drug issue in Baltimore.
Part 7: Ray and Joe talk about his article and History Lesson about Elizabeth Claypoole. He reads a response to his post. This brings up the discussion on mental illness and right brain, left brain and genetic make up of the lefty left.
Part 8: Ray and Joe talk pharmaceutical drugs. Ray points out that there are more and more states getting prescription drugs from out of country companies. They point out the lawsuit that Janet Mills had already lost regarding while she was Maine’s Attorney General. Ray receives a text with a question about where they come from and Joe tells us that a lot of the websites out there don’t sell legitimate drugs and that there are a lot of counterfit drugs out there. Joe gives a website that has valid website to find drugs. Joe says that the legislature doesn’t really have a clue about what they are doing. They take a call from Larry and he asks about a question about a pill getting mixed up in his meds at the pharmacy. Joe tells the procedure for getting to the bottom of the problem.
Part 9: Ray and Joe continue the discussion about the lefty left and having mental challenges.
Part 10: The Jobs Report is released and Ray reads it. They talk about the difference between President Obama and President Trump. President Obama didn’t believe in America according to Ray and that when the Jobs Report was down he was quoted as saying “This is America’s new norm, get used to it”. The boys talk about the two lives of Joe Biden. The talk about the Democratic Debate and Tulsi Gabbard and her comments about Kamala Harris.
Part 11: Ray talks about the Beach to Beacon race happening tomorrow. Ray and Pat Callaghan mentioned Joan yesterday in their discussion about Maine people that have made a difference. Joan Benoit Samuelson, a native of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, is founder and chair of the TD Beach to Beacon 10K.
