Part 1: Ray starts out with a lot on his plate this morning. First up, he gives a brief thought on Brexit and Trump. This leads to a discussion with Debi Davis and Dee Dee Richardson about a couple of the Democratic hopefuls. He points out some of the comments by Kirsten Gillibrand at the Fox News Town Hall about the NRA and abortion. They also talk about Corey Booker’s bribe for votes.
Part 2: David Jones joins in the conversations. They discuss the wonderful antics of Governor Mills and the elected people that are giving our rights away and imposing their crazy ideas. Then, they discuss how cold it was this weekend and David’s granite pool.
Part 3: The weather was discussed and how cold it is….short segment.
Part 4: Ray and David discuss praying for the President. Ray tells David that he has always prayed for our elected people and military every day at the dinner table and in his daily prayers. This leads to David saying that they should let prayers back into the schools. Ray talks about churches that are preaching in the culture of the moment are struggling, but the churches that are teaching the Bible and uses it as the foundation of their message are thriving. They talk about the “Welcome to Illinois, where you can get a safe, legal abortion,” sign from an Illinois abortion facility that makes its living aborting viable, later-term unborn babies has a new billboard advertising to women in Missouri. Ray thanks the guy that came up and spoke to him at church on Sunday.
Part 5: Ray continues his thoughts on abortion and infanticide. Ray talks about the Superior Court and the politics that have been behind their decisions.
Part 6: Ray and David Jones of FO Bailey Real Estate discuss Demetria Chadbourne, 66, passed away on May 29. Demetria was known for her enthusiasm, energy, passion, and love. She loved God, her family and making a difference for others. Ray and David talk about how successful she was in Real Estate and why. They talk about how the market is booming. They discuss how quick things are moving and usually above the asking price because of the demands.
Part 8: Ray and David talk about the message from Eastpoint Christian Church and Jim’s (Ray’s brother in Florida) church message was the same. This leads to how busy Eastpoint is on a daily basis. Ray tells a story about Fred Thompson who was a guest recently was Ordained and why that was special for us. Ray moves on to Franklin Graham’s call for a National Day of Prayer for our President.
Part 9: Ray and David talk about illegals and managing the fact that they don’t have good screening for heath issues and communicable diseases. Gordon Draper calls in to talk about the border and the need for wall. He points out that the government has even stopped private citizens building one.
Part 10: Ray reads the Fox News story about the PBS show Arthur. A Methodist church in Alabama plans to screen the controversial episode of “Arthur” that featured a same-sex marriage that Alabama Public Television refused to air last month. The episode of “Arthur,” titled “Mr. Ratburn and the Special Someone,” aired nationally on May 13. In it, Arthur attends the wedding of his teacher and his partner. Ray and David continue to talk about the values. Part 11: Ray announces big news. Apple is phasing out iTunes. Ray reads the story. This leads to the discussion on the Apple Watch.
Part 1: Ray talks about the Electoral Vote. He explains his position of why this is a bad idea for our country and talks about the states that have embraced this idea. It is not Constitutional. He gives an in-depth civics lesson. Glad to see that Maine House Legislature voted this measure down.
Part 2: Ray talks about abortion and then that leads to the new push to kill the sick and affirmed….He takes a call and Larry wants to know where are all of the Christians to appose the abortion movement.
Part 3: Ray shares that Westbrook Days starts today. He gives a quick rundown of the some of the events featuring: Motor Booty, Something Stupid tonight and Girls Just Want To Have Fun and Dean Ford tomorrow night. Part 4: Roy Lenardson is back for the morning. They get into the nitty-gritty of some of the things that is going on in Augusta. They start off with the Electoral Vote bill that died in the Maine House. They also get into the Worker’s Comp. stuff that is in Augusta. Roy points out that there are a lot of people still around that know what it was like the last time they changed Workers’ Comp. back in the ’80’s. Sen. King took over the reins as Governor and Sen. Diamond could give you some in dept insight because he was in office and has his own business.
Part 5: Ray and Roy start off with the latest company to boycott Georgia over the Heartbeat Bill. This leads to stories of Disney and Ray working there one summer.
Part 6: The boys take a call from Gordon Draper about the wall on the southern border. They discuss the government vs private enterprise. They talk about how private citizens have been trying to build a wall on private property and that has even been stopped. This leads them to the people we elect not taking care of business. NIMB (Not In My Backyard) mentality is stopping a lot of development that can help grow Maine’s economy. Somehow this leads to the CMP Corridor. Ray calls out the Dark Money Allies that aren’t necessarily telling the truth or the whole truth.
Part 7: Ray asks Roy what is up in Augusta that he is really worried about and Roy answers in details. Some of the gambling bills, Workers’ Comp. This was a great discussion.
Part 8: Ray reads a text about the CMP Corridor and the discussion between Ray and Shawn Moody last week. Roy agreed with the person’s text and Ray disagrees. They each expand their own thoughts on this deal. The boys talk about how much is enough. How much land does the government need to own and go off of the tax rolls.
Part 9: Ray and Roy talk about his reunion and what is happening this weekend. This brings up Ted Talbot somehow. At first they reminisce the good old days, but then they start poking fun at poor Teddy.
Part 10: Ray explains why he has been talking so much about abortion lately. He explains that he is reacting to what is happening around the country and in our own state. He talks about the Governors around the country that have signed into law that is is legal to take another life. Ray reads the story about the smallest baby ever born and survive is on her way home. The world’s smallest baby was born in San Diego at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital at just 8.6 ounces. She weighed about the same as an apple. She was just released from the hospital at a whopping 5 pounds when discharged.
Part 11: Ray takes calls about the abortion issue. He reminds people of Westbrook Together Days celebration and talks about the line up and fireworks.
Part 1: Ray and Debi discuss Special Council Bob Mueller’s press conference that was held yesterday. Ray gives a brief history of the players and talks about how President Trump has been open and there wasn’t obstruction. He blames Trump for fanning the fire with his Twitter account. He needs to point out the transparency, not witch-hunt on the Trumps in his Twitter. He and Debi disagree on Trump’s approach. There were people around him that have done illegal stuff, but not in regards to Trump’s dealings.
Part 2: Bob Witkowski of Visit Portland and author of 100 Things to Do In Portland Maine Before You Die, joins Ray, Debi and Dee Dee. He brings laughs as we discuss “Mom and Dad’s disagreement”. He asks if we can go out for ice cream. Ray brings up the announcement by Alex Trebek that his cancer has made a miracle reduction. Things are looking great and he gives prayers and good wishes from his many fans as the difference.
Part 3: Ray reads a story the law society of Canada’s largest province voted against admitting among their ranks graduates of Trinity Western University, for the sole reason that the school’s community covenant, which students (and teachers) voluntarily sign upon admission or hiring, reserves sexual intimacy for heterosexual marriage.
Part 4: Ray and Bob welcomes Fox News Radio’s Rachel Sutherland by phone to discuss Special Council Bob Mueller’s press conference. They talk about the “noise” of impeachment and the differences between AG Barr’s conversation with Mueller. They also chat about Speaker Pelosi and how she is stuck in the middle of a no win situation. Bob gives his 100 Things to do in Portland before you die. He has two book signings coming up with his 2nd Edition of 100 Things to Do In Portland Maine Before You Die. 6/15 at Sherman’s Bookstore Freeport in Freeport at 1PM and the other one on 6/29 at Sherman’s Bookstore Portland in Portland at 11:30am.
Part 5: Ray and Bob welcome Roy Lenardson. The boys talk about the film industry and the boycott of Georgia over their abortion law. Ray expresses his real disappointment that Disney has become one of the companies that have made a stand to boycott if it is kept.
Part 6: The boys welcome Republican National Committee spokesperson Liz Harrington to discuss the Electoral College and how Maine is trying to give our voice and vote away to New York and California. Ray brings up the fact that it isn’t Constitutional. Liz brings up the question about Jared Golden and where does he stand on this issue. He has been silent on this issue. Roy suggests that the Democrats should start with their own election in the primary with this method.
Part 7: Ray and Roy continue their discussion.
Part 8: Ray and the boys welcome David Ciullo of Career Management Services and Dale Carnegie Maine, he also hosts The H.R. PowerHour on WLOB Radio. Today’s topic is the newly signed bill about paid time off (PTO). This won’t go into effect until after the election of 2021. Dave gives some of the details. He points out some of the ambiguity. Roy asks a question about the of not complying. This leads to a discussion on minimum wage and the incrementalism of government.
Part 9: Bob had to go to work and so Roy and Ray discuss Portland and their election for Mayor. They talk about Moody’s diner and their favorite pie.
Part 10: Ray and Roy talk about his vacation plans and they take a call about the great state of Maine and some of what they have to offer. They talk about Waterboro area and how beautiful it is. They take another call about the energy fight and the Central Maine Power Corridor. Ray talks about Brownie Carson bill that will change the rules in the middle of the game. Roy uses the example of Santee Cooper’s Winyah Steam Generation Plant. He urges people to do the research.
Part 11: Ray has gotten several complaints about the prescription drug commercials. Ray explains why they are running them. Roy asks about our weekend plans, we have none….He is heading to his 35th Class Reunion. They talk about UBER and the benefits.
Part 1: Ray and Debi discuss Former President Obama and how he weaponized the FBI and the Attorney General’s office. This is brought on by an editorial by disgraced former FBI Director James Comey. Ray talks about how this is just a self-serving piece about why he did what he did. They end with the Governor Janet Mills announcement that she has nominated former Maine Senate Majority Leader and Chair of the Legislature’s Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee, Phil Bartlett, to serve as Chair of the Maine Public Utilities Commission (PUC).
Part 2: Ray, Dee Dee and Debi talk about Maine’s LD 1313 “An Act To Enact the Maine Death with Dignity Act”. Ray talks about the difference between Florida and Maine. Maine citizens didn’t know what the Democrats had up their sleeve if they got into office.
Part 3: Ray, Dee Dee and Debi discuss Garrett Mason’s prediction on the proposed budget. Ray talks about the Governor’s promise to be fiscally responsible. Ray explains how the Republicans attacked Gov. LePage’s budget according to Garrett, but the Dems are doing just the opposite. He wants to know how they plan to pay for the extraordinary things they want to get passed.
Part 4: Ray reminds the audience of Honor Flight Maine and the great service that they provide to honor our veterans. He goes back to the promise he made in the 1st segment to get into political history of Phil Bartlett and the Governor’s appointment of him to the PUC. He also talks about the people that have been given jobs based on reward/longevity to the party instead of ability/resume. Ray wants to know what is will be the catalyst to get people involved and upset. He lists several different ideas and shows the progression of them.
Part 5: Ray reads a story from the Portland Press Herald about Background Checks for buying a gun. The “Red Flag Bill” brings out some of his concerns about the rights of the individual, but also doesn’t want anyone to hurt someone or themselves. Nobody should be able to willy-nilly take your gun and the right to protect yourself.
Part 6: Ray goes back to the “Red Flag Bill” and the right of the citizen and the bills that are going before Maine’s Legislature. He brings up the fact that there are guns protecting our money at banks, but not at our schools to protect our children. Ray compares the laws between Florida and Maine regarding guns in schools.
Part 8: Ray talks the government’s want to control your business. They are trying to kill all of the businesses in Maine by a thousand little cuts instead of just one swipe to the jugular. They want to put back into place a lot of the things that were killed businesses back in the late 1980’s. Ray says that Government’s goal is to run your business the way they want, not to let you run it the way you think it should be run. They know better than you do.
Part 9: Ray is riled up and prompts his audience to ask people about the history of Maine’s businesses. Ask someone that had a business in the ’80’s and what happened and not to just take his word for it.
Part 10: Ray and Dee Dee discuss the ban coming out of South Portland. Their City Council about the banning of cigarettes to people under the age of 21. Ray talks about leadership in our elected people. They want to get rid of tobacco, but don’t have the willingness to give money that is behind tobacco. There are a lot of tax money brought in and lobby money that will support some of the other bad ideas they have.
Part 11: Ray addresses several emails and text messages that he has received. One is about the South Portland Library hosting a children story time with host Chartreuse, a local Drag Queen from Portland, and about his support for Sen. Susan Collins. He says that we need to plan ahead and not put Sarah Gideon in Maine’s Senator seat. He doesn’t agree with every vote from Sen. Collins, but she is our best chance of getting the Superior Court Judge appointments that we need.
