06-27-18 Russian Spies
Ray is joined by Fox News Radio’s Jon Decker. Ray asks him about Stormy Daniels and his opinion on the way she has been treated by the media verses the way Juanita Broaddrick and some of the other Clinton accusers have been treated. They also head to the Russians and how they are going to be sent back home for being branded spies.
03-26-18 Gun Debate
Part 1: Ray talks about a high school friend from Florida who was wondering what his response to the march that happened over the weekend. He believes that they have a right to march, but he doesn’t agree with their message. He finds it insincere, because he feels that the kids are being used as a pawn. Then he goes on to the age of adulthood. You can carry a gun for our country, but can’t buy a pack of smokes.
Part 2: Ray is still talking about Guns. In the aftermath of the Parkland tragedy, there was another shooting in a Maryiland High School. Nobody is talking about the fact that there was a good guy with a gun to be able to stop the bad guy with a gun. Which was a handgun, but it doesn’t fit their narrative. We need a strong person or group to stand up and lead the right conversation. A caller calls to talk about one of the ideas a superintendent has for his schools.
Part 3: Ray gives a great shout out to The Daily Grind in Westbrook that was robbed on Saturday as one of many in the past couple of weeks. He goes back to gun control. Gubernatorial candidate Mark Eves wrote an op-ed and in it he said that Maine doesn’t want guns and Maine doesn’t want the NRA.
03-26-18 Joe Loughlin
Part 1: Ray is joined in studio by Former Portland Deputy Chief Joe Loughlin. He was here a couple of weeks ago with his delicious Loughlin’s Irish Steak Sauce. Joe has written another book. Shots Fired: The Misunderstandings, Misconceptions, and Myths about Police Shootings is a journey “behind the shield” which highlights the experiences of the real human beings in the line of fire.
Part 2: Joe and Ray talk about his first book that Joe and Kate collaborated on before: Finding Amy: A True Story of Murder in Maine and his co-author, Kate Clark Flora.
Part 3: Ray and Joe talk about how society has de-humanized police. Departments all over the country are down in personnel. They talk about “bad cops” and how much damage they can do to a department and how much the departments have changed since he started to now. Joe talks about how much shooting someone changes a person.
