Part 1: Ray and Debi talk about the March 14th Walk Out event. Maine teenagers will supposedly lead walkouts and rallies at some 40 schools from Berwick to Machias as part of the nationwide #Enough National School Walkout to End Gun Violence. The problem is that it is a political event held at the school. Only in Westbrook they are having only the left side speaking and after the walkout they will be having a voter’s registration.
Part 2: Ray and Debi continue the discussion on the walkout planned on Wednesday. Ray wants to be extremely clear. He is proud that our kids are standing up so that they can be heard. Ray’s problem is the schools indoctrinating our children instead of teaching our kids how to learn.

03-09-18 Family/Schools
Part 1: Ray reads a statement from Dr. Drew. Dr. Drew Pinsky, a practicing physician and addiction expert, said on Thursday that the White House opioid summit gave him hope that the government is willing to put a stop to the opioid epidemic. The boys discuss how we need to have more closed door meetings to get to the bottom of issues. When everything is out in the media when we begin the discussions on hard topics, it becomes political before we can get a thought out. Somehow the discussion ends up with domestic violence, women’s rights, men’s rights and the nuclear family.
Part 2: Ray talks about the statistics of the shooters in our country. Most of them come from families without a father. Gordon talks about what has happened in his school district to keep the schools safe.
Part 3: Ray reads some of the text messages he is getting. Ray explains he point, once again. Tim Wilson explains his viewpoint. There is more than one way to raise children, but it does come back to having a steady home life. Tim says it goes back to the listening skills. Society has lost the ability to listen to the whole statement before knowing what their stance would be. Tim also describes his thoughts on school safety. We had a caller who says they talked about cluster schools in South Portland but it was decided that they would rather keep neighborhood schools.
