03-01-18 Emotion vs Constitution
Part 1: Ray teases Joe about his neon yellow jacket. They talk about the moon and how bright it has been the last couple of days. Republicans are having a caucus at 10am Saturday morning at the Raymond Public Safety Building in Raymond. They dig into the Tariffs that the President has mandated. This isn’t a good idea. Mark Reilly joins them mid-segment. Ray brings us due process. Pres. is going to stand up for gun rights. Chuck Schumer voted down a judge nomination because he was white. That leads into a whole discussion. Don’t judge a book by their cover.
Part 2: Ray and Joe talk about the conversation between President Trump and Vice-President Pence talking about due process and getting the guns. Joe is shocked that Pres. Trump didn’t even think about the Constitution. Kids can’t not drive the discussion on the gun legislation because they are arguing on emotion, not logic. They should have a voice, but not the only one.
Part 3: Peter McFarland is back from his vacation. He and his family went down to Nashville, Tennessee. He describes some of the stops they made and wonderful food.
02-28-18 AARP
Part 1: Amy Gallant with AARP Maine brings us Carol Bush of the Eastern Trail Alliance today. The Eastern Trail is both a trail and a vision. The Eastern Trail has 22 off-road miles from Bug Light (in South Portland) to Kennebunk. To complete this vision, we are aggressively developing plans and funds to both close a critical 1.6-mile gap between South Portland and Scarborough and then add 19 miles between Kennebunk and South Berwick. They need your help to Close the Gap.
Part 2: The Eastern Trail Alliance is holding several really cool events. One special evening is the Taste of the Town Gala on April 7th. Click here for a list of upcoming events. Contact Amy: 207-776-6303, agallant@aarp.org or on Facebook.
