02-28-18 Lead the Conversation
Part 1: Ray, Debi and David discuss Falmouth’s decision to not allow a police officer to wear his police uniform into the school. This leads to the discussion of fearing policemen.
Part 2: Ray reads a Fox News story that Brooklyn, NY will have to pay out $180,000 to three Muslim women after forcing them to take off their hijabs for mugshots. This was the discussion on “equal rights for Muslim/Americans”. If you live in America, should you live by our laws/rules. This ruling sets a really bad precedent. Americans don’t demand anything from the immigrants coming to our country. The Muslim culture and American culture are not compatible.
Part 3: Linda Sarsour’s speech about “We will not assimilate” Ray talks about how divided America has become. Linda is a consequence of freedom.
02-28-18 Eric Brakey
Republican State Sen. Eric Brakey joins Ray, Debi and David Jones by phone. He has submitted a bill that would allow qualified teachers to carry concealed firearms in schools. Eric said “Giving teachers the option to train and carry firearms will provide a critical last line of defense to save lives and prevent tragedy in Maine like we have seen in other states. We can defend our schools and our constitution. The Defend Our Schools Act is a great first step to protecting our kids as well as we protect our politicians.” Ray and Eric talk about Rep. Sarah Gideon’s Liberal gun grabbing rally and their do nothing politics. Eric is running for U.S. Senate against Independent Sen. Angus King.
02-28-18 Good Morning!!!
Part 1: Ray is rare form. He is says wake up!!! Maine’s Speaker of the House Sarah Gideon is holding a rally at the State House tomorrow, but has shut down the dialog on how to keep our schools safe. This is a do nothing rally and will not solve anything but get her name in the news.
Part 2: Ray talks about some of the bills that were submitted to keep the schools safe. They voted down Rep. Cebra’s and Sen. Eric Brakey’s bills. They did vote a Red Flag bill introduced by Sen. Mark Dion. If we don’t put everything on the table, we aren’t being sincere about the goal. Ray also talks about having an universal age of being an adult. Sometime it is 18 sometimes it is 21.
Part 3: Solving problems isn’t something the elected folks seem to be interested in. Maine’s Speaker of the House Sarah Gideon is holding a lets keep guns out of schools. Even thought they are already a gun-free entity, but people are dying because there is no one there to protect them.
