Part 1: Tim Wilson of Seeds of Peace, David Jones, Making Maine Great Again PAC, Rep. Rich Cebra and Gordon Draper of Maine Patriot PAC join Ray and Debi in the studio this morning. Tim describes some of the procedures that other countries take to keep their schools safe.
Part 2: The discussion continues on keeping our country’s citizens safe. Tim describes what security looked like in Israel when he and his wife lived there. He also goes to people moving into our state and changing it and making rules/laws that teachers can’t keep up with or that are contradictory to ones already on the books.
Part 3: Rep. Wayne Parry calls in to give his thoughts on Broward County and how a parked car might have been a deterrent to bad things happening.
Part 4: Ray talks about high school classmate Daryl Coleman and the NBC special this year will be Jesus Christ Superstar LIVE. Then they talk about coffee (really in depth conversations). The conversation travels to topless coffee and donuts shops, somehow we get to hotdogs and bologna. Then somehow end up back in New York talking about Junior’s cheesecake and bacon.
Part 5: Republican Party Leader Demi Kouzounas fresh from a vacation in Florida joins the group. The panel talks about the open-mindedness of everyone. The people creating the laws and the people wanting the laws changed. It is sad that things can’t be taken at face value. There always seems to be a hidden agenda.
Part 6: Assistant House Minority Leader Ellie Espling joins us by phone. Ray asks her about her vote for the Rep. Cebra’s bill for school safety. She thinks that there will be more than one bill and she says she will have to see what is presented. Rich explains his bill a little bit. She hopes that something will happen this time. Tim suggest having some of the people on the front lines describe what truly happening. There needs to be a strong conversation and not have a watered down solution that is not effective.
Part 7: It is the season of the Caucus. Rep. Cebra talks about the caucuses that happened up in his neck of the woods. Gordon talks about a couple in his neck of the woods. Demi gives some of the results of some of the straw polls that was taken.
Part 8: Ray asks Rich and Gordon, Lifetime Members, their thoughts on NRA. Rich wants to know why the Maine’s Teachers Alliance and the Maine Educator’s Association don’t want to see solutions to protect our kids and teachers. We have a caller that talk about the true first responders of Parkland. It was the Assistant Football Coach Aaron Freis, geography teacher Scott Beigel, Athletic Director Chris Hixonthe, 15-year-old Anthony Borges, 15 year old ROTC student Peter Wang and other UNARMED CIVILIANS while the armed law enforcement stayed outside. The discussion ends up with we need to have some common sense conversations and the ability to really listen to each other. Schools need to be more consistent and not have a jaundiced eye to the problems.
Part 9: They talk about the self governing of the school systems and other entities that don’t have a full accountability of their actions. Ray and the panel talk about the role model aspect and then the final thought is about Faith. Where is that in the mix? It isn’t there, which is the problem.
02-27-18 Veterans in Schools
Part 1: Ray and Rep. Rich Cebra discuss Pat Corey’s plan. He is asking the Legislative Council to allow me to introduce an after deadline bill to send a $20 million bond to fund security enhancements in Maine’s schools to our voters. Pat Corey serves Maine House District 25 in Windham.
Part 2: Ray reads a message from listener Jake Myrick about veterans with PSTD. Jake states that people with PSTD are here to serve, not to hurt you. Our training is ingrained into our being. Rep. Rich Cebra talks about his town selectman meeting having the Pledge of Allegiance said for the first time in quite a while. Ray reads another question from listener Claude about how many teachers in Maine are veterans. Then they end up talking about teachers carrying guns on school properties.
02-26-18 Darkman
A frequent call that Ted Talbot named “Darkman” calls in to talk about the American White man. Ray talks about how the most dangerous man is an American White Liberal.
02-26-18 Politics and Sports
Ray and David talk about the Olympics and how they have even become so political. Figure skater Adam Rippon and Freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy have made statements on foreign soil against our country and President. Adam has made it clear that he doesn’t support and will not go to the White House for a visit. Gus slammed Ivanka for coming to the Closing Ceremonies in a tweet.
