Ray tells the story of the kindness of “Mr. Moran” of Moran’s Market on Forest Avenue from back in 1985 right after the move to Maine. It was probably 15 years after our first encounter that I learned his name was not Moran. It was Larsen. I have never and will never forget the kindness he showed a young couple almost 33 years ago. Mr. Bernard Larsen passed away earlier this week. He was my first introduction to how wonderful the people of Maine were and how we knew we had made a good decision to build our life here.

Ray talks about the fact that this country needs to start doing some soul searching. You cannot legislate morality. Government can’t fix this problem by themselves and we need to start looking at our society and how do we fix that. Will we genuinely try and fix the problem or put some politics into the mix and “say” we fixed it?

Ray and Debi talk about schools and talk about how to keep school safe. They both feel that they need to make schools a fortress. Taking care of our children should be our number one priority and there will be a cost, but it isn’t like we don’t have the money to make it happen.
