Lisa Bird of Special Olympics Maine joins us to recap the Lobster Dip 2018, Maine’s “ORIGINAL” Dip. Peter McFarland joined the fun this year. The Special Olympics have 75 events a year, this is not including training the coach or athlete. Their Unified Sports Program teams are made up of an approximately equal number of athletes (people with intellectual disabilities) and Unified Partners (people without intellectual disabilities). This weekend they are holding their 2018 Winter Games held at Sugarloaf. Here is a schedule of events. https://www.somaine.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/2018-Winter-Games-Special-Events-Calendar.pdf. You can find them on Facebook and on the web.
01-25-18 Too Sensitive
Ray asks Peter McFarland and Bob Witkowski about their thought on some of the “feelings” of people. When did we get so “sensitive” about everything and when do their rights infringe on my rights and how do we get away from being so “politically correct”.
01-25-18 David Ciullo
David Ciullo of Career Management Services and Dale Carnegie Maine, he also hosts The H.R. PowerHour on WLOB Radio joins us by phone to talk about the hiring process and how social media can affect your job and potential jobs. Anything that you put up on the web has a digital footprint and doesn’t go away. It will follow you forever, so you should be cautious and inform your children and grandchildren that your social media is your branding and future employers will look way back into your history.
01-25-18 Protesters
The boys talk about protesters. Ray expresses his disdain for the protesters that feel that it is okay to protest at someone’s private home. Bob asks him about the Governor’s mansion or other publicly owned home and Ray says that he feels that is different. The taxpayers are paying for that home.
