01-23-18 The Political Roundtable
Part 1: Ray, Gordon and David talk about “The Wall”. If and when you build the wall, what is the plan for up-keep and patrolling. Just having a wall isn’t enough.
Part 2: David finishes up his point. We need to enforce the immigration policies that we have in place. If you start going after employers that hire an illegal immigrant, there won’t be jobs for them to come to. Also if you take some of the luxuries of away from the people on welfare, it will all balance out.
Part 3: We have a call about the merit system. He tries to convince Ray (it didn’t work by the way). Ray said that all people were made by God and this caller disagrees.
Part 4: Republican Party Leader Demi Kouzounas joins us in studio and Minority Assistant Leader Ellie Espling joins us by phone. Ellie fills us in to what is happening in Augusta. Today is a quiet day so far because of the weather. Ray asks about Mark Eves and his lawsuit that was brought back by an appellate judge. Ellie wanted to bring up the women’s march and how that they don’t represent all women. We need to support the conservative women running for office.
Part 5: This is a really short segment. Demi states for the record again that we need strong women that are known for their brains and contributions, not for their body parts and tearing society down.
Part 6: Ray brings up the Government Shutdown. He is so bored with Washington, he just wants them to do their jobs. We need elected people that are good people, not corrupted by Washington. Demi points out that the Democrats are just as split as the Republicans are. Fox News Radio’s Jon Decker calls in to talk about how the Democrats, led by Chuck Schumer, caved and the President got what he wanted at least until Feb. 8th.
Part 7: Demi won’t be with us next week. She will be down in Washington at the State of the Union Address courtesy of Sen. Susan Collins. They also discuss representatives that don’t show up at the table to represent all of their constituents. Ray is very disappointed that Chellie Pingree isn’t going to the State of the Union Address.
