01-17-19 Politics at-Large
Part 1: Ray, Bob Witkowski and Phil Spiller are all in studio. Ray reads a story about how Julian Castro, former United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development under President Obama, is running for President and his moniker is that he won’t pardon Trump. Then he reads a story about Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg and her failing health. Then the boys get into a discussion about taxes and how people and companies are moving out of Maine. Ray states, “Money means mobility!” The discussion is about tourism tax.
Part 2: Quick little segment that continues the tax burden thoughts.
01-17-19 Visit Portland/Discover Downtown Westbrook
Part 1: Ray and Visit Portland‘s Bob welcome Discover Downtown Westbrook‘s Phil Spiller. The first topic is the Ice Disc and all of the attention it has been getting. The boys turn their attention to some of the other great things that are happening in Westbrook, especially the new complex being build. Rock Row will be more than just a shopping center, there will be a music venue.
Part 2: Bob continues with some of the great things happening and to look for in our communities. Concerts coming to the area will be announced soon.
01-17-19 Cockamamie Ideas
Part 1: Ray and Debi talk about the York County Republican Party meeting and their elections last night. John Kenny was elected to lead them this year. Ray heads to the State of the Union Address and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s request to delay because they need to have more security. Ray and Debi also take on Maine Speaker Sarah Gideon and her “cockamamie” bill to give 12 weeks of paid leave.
Part 2: Ray continues his thoughts on the paid sick time bill and disability insurance. Why is it the appropriate roll of government to take care of you. Why are you not responsible for yourself. Maine has always been known for their work ethic.
