Ray and Debi welcome the Wainwright Family into the studio this morning. He met them at the Fryeburg Fair. Ellen is the campaign manager for her father, Christopher, who is running for Oxford County Sheriff. Ellen and Chris talk about the campaign, his opponent are friends and that this has been a friendly campaign. They were friends before and will be after Nov. 6. Chris describes being able to pin his son, John, who is in the Army. He congratulates his other son, who’s team won a state football game. Ellen talks about how when she and John were little they would be sad that dad wasn’t around, but realize that that someone must need him more. Part 1: Ray and Debi welcome Glenn Cummings, President of the University of Southern Maine, in studio this morning to help spread the good news that enrollment is up. Ray brings up the Professor that wanted to take a bus of protestors to Washington DC and Glenn’s quick and decisive action. Glenn has some really great news. Fall Headcounts Early College at USM is up more than 500% in four years!! (Fall 2015: 120, Fall 2016: 555, Fall 2017: 500, Fall 2018: 697) They also talk about some of the schools that USM has dual enrollment partnerships from Sanford High School in the southern portion of the state, to Stearns High School in Millinocket, to Calais High School in the east.
Part 2: The boys talk about Question 4, which asks if they want to invest $49 million in Maine’s public universities for the purpose of increasing massive workforce development capacity — with the ultimate goal of attracting and retaining students to improve and strengthen Maine’s future workforce. Ray points out that even the Governor is for this bond. We need to upgrade our technology available to students. They talk about the University Nursing Workforce Plan. Maine is in desperate need for nurses.

Part 1: Ray and Debi talk about poor white men and how the media is reporting polls. Ray and Debi believe that it is time for former President Obama to go gently into the night.
Part 2: Ray talks about how in the Dakota states they are telling hunters that they could loose their right to vote. Ray reads a news story about one of the accusers of Judge Kavanaugh and her false claims.
Part 3: Ray talks about the great things happening in Maine and America. He is frustrated that there is no real reporting of the good things happening in our fantastic state and Ray has called out Portland Press and TV stations for not doing a better job of reporting the truth.
11-02-18 Congressman Bruce Poliquin
Part 1: Ray and Joe have Congressman Bruce Poliquin on by phone. Ray and the Congressman talk about some of the crazy things that have been hurled at him that are untrue. He deeply cares about the pre-existing condition and Maine’s aging community lies that his opponent keeps spreading. Bruce talks about the NRA rating and the support he has because of his stance on the 2nd Amendment. Bruce points out some of the things he has worked hard to achieve. He is against any tax hike and illegal immigration. He supports legal immigration and strong borders. He stresses that the opioid crisis won’t end until we have a strong border.
Part 2: Ray tells Joe about the employment issues and how many jobs have increased. Ray poses the question, “Are you better off now than you were two years ago?” Congressman Poliquin stresses the differences between his side vs the Democrat side…we need to continue to keep going in the direction that we are heading now. He has the experience and history of creating jobs and protecting our border security. Ray praises his staff, but especially Corenna O’Brien.
