Part 1: Ray and David are joined by Assistant Minority House Leader Ellie Espling and WLOB’s new summer intern Jack Cianchette. They have a discussion on the President’s tweets and how they aren’t very civil. How can we get back to being civil to one another.
Part 2: Portland Maine’s Mayor Ethan Strimling joins by phone and Pete McVety joins in studio. They talk about Lenny Kravitz and his music and parents. They get into the angry people. Ethan and Ray disagree with David on the angry tones from opposite sides. Ellie says that the media isn’t helping. Ethan and Ray agree that people from the same party need to call out each other as well when the dialog gets personal and nasty. They disagree where it all began.
Part 3: The panel continues the “civil” discussion. Ray states if we want civility, we must practice it.
Part 4: The panel takes on the discussion about Jim Acosta and the attacks on Sarah Sanders and the protesters confronting Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi at a showing of a documentary about children’s TV host Fred Rogers. Gordon Draper joins us and he mentions the attack on the firefighters in Long Beach, California.
Part 5: Ray asks Ellie to give an update on what is happening in Augusta with the Legislature. She gives a rundown on the different bonds and bills in front of them. Ray asks about Gov. LePage support or non-support for the things in front of him. What does she feel he might veto.
Part 6: GOP Leader Demi Kouzounas joins us in the house. The Legislation conversation continues between Ellie and Ray. They talk about re-working the Clean Election law. Gordon asks Ellie a clarify a question about Medicaid Expansion that he saw in the Bangor Daily News.
Part 7: Ray asks Demi about what is the plan to keep Republicans in office. We need to keep the train on the tracks. We want to turn the state red with Republican support. Demi stresses that Republicans need to vote for Republicans.
Part 8: Somehow the discussion gets to dental floss. Starting with David’s candy addiction and end with Dr. Kouzounas’ trash can inspections for the floss evidence. LOL. Ray asks about proper manners vs common courtesy. Ray poses the question of whether showing good manners is a sign of being weak. They get on the discussion about political correctness and how history will repeat itself over and over or people will change it to the narrative that they want to bend it to.
Part 9: Ray and Demi give Ellie kudos for all of her hard work in Augusta. She is a good role model for incoming people. Her ethics are first class.
06-26-18 Immigration
Part 1: Ray starts the day with immigration. He talks about the occupy movement that wants the U.S. to not have any border. Also that the detention centers were not constructed during the Trump Administration, they were built under Obama’s watch. Why did Chellie Pingree run down to Texas now instead of back when the picture was actually taken. Where was the media’s outcry?
Part 2: David Jones joins Ray to discuss the immigration problem. They stress how important it is to get out and vote in November. The boys talk about the economy and how the media can’t talk about how good it is, all they can talk about is Harley-Davidson moving some of their plants out.
06-25-18 Civility
Part 1: Ray talks about social media and how it has been feeding this hatred fire. Ray got on to this topic because he posted something on social media to congratulate Janet Mills on her nomination and the nasty posts that followed. We need to start listening to each other instead of just yelling at each other.
Part 2: Fox News Radio’s Jon Decker and Ray talk about the civility or lack there of in today’s society.
Part 3: Ray plays a song for his granddaughter. Ray also talks about how superstitious athletes are. He also talks about Sarah Sanders and the protest against her at a restaurant. Ray talks about the failed promises of the Obama administration. Ray also talks about the TARP program. Ray points out that the elected folks can come up with the money for programs that they want funded, but there never seems to be money for programs the average citizen. Ray also touches on Jimmy Fallon.
Part 4: Ray talks about poverty.
06-25-18 Fox Headlines
Part 1: Ray goes over some of the headlines in the news this segment. One of the things he talks about is a story from Fox News. Laura Ingalls Wilder’s name is set to be removed from a major children’s book award after concerns were raised about the “Little House on the Prairie” author’s depiction of certain races in the early-to-mid 20th century. Ray then talks about Sarah Sanders and the restaurant she was asked to leave. He has no problem with the restaurant owner’s decision. It is the double standard of the left. Why is it okay for the restaurant owner to not serve someone, but the baker is condemned for the same thing.
Part 2: Fox News Radio’s Simon Owen joins Ray to give an update on the rumors of a meeting between Pres. Trump and Pres. Putin. likely talks will be about North Korea and the relationship between Russia and the United States.
Part 3: Maxine Water incites bullying, and violence against the Trump Administration when they are out on their own time. The fact that we are allowing the elected folks to run amuck and not do their jobs and take care of Americans. We celebrate 30% voter turnout….we have a voice that we need to use…Ray takes a call and he says we need to get down in the mud with the liberals. He wants to fight fire with fire.
Part 4: Ray takes a call from someone that believes we all need to take a step back and recognize that we all have become nasty to each other and we need to start being civil to one another.
