Ray starts the day with a great big Thank You to the Maine House Republicans for standing firm on their vote to adjourn. Now they are being blamed because business wasn’t taken care of.
05-02-18 Inefficient Government
Part 1: Ray talks about how today is Veto day in Augusta. He goes on a tangent…..lots of things hit. He touches on sessions starting late and we need to hold them accountable. The Speaker hasn’t done her job efficiently and they haven’t gotten to all that was before the House. Now she wants to expand the session and the Republicans have said no.
Part 2: Ray says to ask “WHY!!!” Why can’t the elected folks do their job on a timely manner. Ray takes a call about conversion therapy.
Part 3: State Rep. Rich Cebra calls in on his way to Augusta. They have a conversation about Veto day and how the Speaker is trying to strong arm Representatives into coming back into session. There is a lot of manipulation up there and unfortunately, there are a lot of really important bills that will not be gotten to because of the inefficient leadership.
Part 4: Ray talks to a caller about the candidates for Governor and what Ray explains what he is looking for in that person.
05-02-18 People Run Government
Part 1: Ray pokes fun at the citizen’s referendum process. He has a lot of fun with the marijuana bill that we have in Augusta because of the people’s referendum and how the bills that go before the public to be voted on aren’t necessarily legal or constitutional.
Part 2: Ray and Debi are still laughing at the picture of little babies smoking dope because it would be legal if Gov. LePage’s veto doesn’t hold up. Ray explains the legal process of how the people’s referendum process works. How having public hearings on bills before the House would give both sides an opportunity to argue its merits.
