Ray, Debi and Bob are joined in studio by Alison Ingalls. She is representing the Yellow Tulip Project. The Yellow Tulip Project is meant to help smash the stigma around mental illness and was started by Julia Hanson. Alison explains why and how she got involved. She describes her battle with depression and anxiety struggles. It is important to bring awareness and comfort in talking about these issues. Ray asks about seeing some of the warning signs and Alison talks about Talks Saves Lives. Mayor Strimling has proclaimed this Sunday as Hope Day Celebration Day! There will be a celebration in Lincoln Park in Portland on May 6 from 10am-11:30am. Music, stories and wellness activities.

05-03-18 Downtown Workers Appreciation Day
Part 1: Ray starts this segment with a reminder that he is taking his show on the road. The Ray Richardson Show will be in Augusta for Friday and will be on air Saturday covering the Maine Republican Convention. Bob Witkowski tells us about this weekend being Cinco De Mayo and the Kentucky Derby will be running as well. He also tells us about Portland Downtown Worker’s Appreciation Day is today! Tents and tables will be set up in three locations from 7:30-9:30am. Ray and Bob give Casey Gilbert some love.
Part 2: Bob opens this segment with the Black Point Inn opening for the season. They talk about the beautiful scenery and delicious food. Scarborough Downs will be having some fun on Saturday because of the Kentucky Derby. The boys give the recipe for a southern tradition, the Mint Julep.
