Bob gives an advance look into some of the fun things happening in Portland in the next few weeks. He mentions the MS Harborfest. It is a three-day festival (August 17-19, 2018) of sailboats, tugboats, and lobster boats. He also promotes the Sea Dogs Field of Dreams game on August 29th against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Part 1: Ray has Debi in stitches as he makes fun of the election process. Ray read a headline about some ballots were mysteriously found that didn’t get counted.
Part 2: Rep. Christopher Collins, a Republican congressman from New York, was arrested and charged with participating in an insider-trading scheme to sell the shares of an Australian biotechnology company before the public disclosure of a failed drug trial. Prosecutors accused Rep. Collins, 68 years old, of tipping off his son about the results of a multiple-sclerosis drug trial.

Part 1: Bill Diamond, David Jones, Conner Richardson and Ray discuss Rowe Auto Group and other multi-generational businesses (Wilson & Sons, Volk Packaging, Messer) that are thriving because of their personal values. They take a call about the rail lines and do they subsidize.
Part 2: They continue the discussion on how to make Maine stronger and prosperous. They take a call from Bill in Casco and they discuss the mentality of “not in my backyard” is hampering progress.
Part 3: They go back to the real estate industry partnering with the government to promote Maine in other states to get people to move to Maine. They talk about kids going to college graduating and planning their life. Trades Schools are not promoted enough. They also discuss Peter Mills.
Part 4: Ray brings up the new expanded medicaid that the Governor has vetoed. They discuss what the court might do. Medicare Expansion is bad for Maine. Bill wonders how this is going to play a part in the election.

Part 1: Ray and David Jones, owner of FO Bailey Real Estate, are joined by Conner Richardson. This morning they are talking about how the Portland area is such a great place to live. Not only is it beautiful, but it is convenient to Boston. We have fishing, skiing, boating, restaurants, art, music and casinos.
Part 2: Ray reads a question for David from a listener. Conner gives a huge thanks to Bay Area Title for hosting a wonderful event yesterday. David has one condo left in Portland that overlooks the water and a listing that he has in Freeport. David stresses the need for more listings.
Part 3: The boys are joined by State Sen. Bill Diamond. They discuss the possibility of the real estate industry promoting and marketing Maine to people in other states to bring people to here. They talk about how more people in Maine would lessen the burden of the costs of running the state. They take a call about the infrastructure in our state.
Part 4: Ray talk about the census and how if we want to preserve the Downeast and Northern Maine, we need to loosen the hold a little and be willing to let some progress happen. They discuss what an East-West corridor would do for Maine.
